Park Bench in the Night
The Black Knight
There's a park bench on the street
Where hands hold and shoulders meet
Where we sit, you and I
As memories grow and time flies
Your head on my shoulder, the warmest of rests
My heart thumping loudly inside of my chest
I wish I could freeze time
When your arms are wrapped around mine
And forever listen to your laugh
The melody of my better half
But time and cold are relentlessly strong
Cutting short what could never last too long
And so I'll happily take the memories
Sitting there with you next to me
On that park bench in the night
Where Beauty sat to my right
Where hands hold and shoulders meet
Where we sit, you and I
As memories grow and time flies
Your head on my shoulder, the warmest of rests
My heart thumping loudly inside of my chest
I wish I could freeze time
When your arms are wrapped around mine
And forever listen to your laugh
The melody of my better half
But time and cold are relentlessly strong
Cutting short what could never last too long
And so I'll happily take the memories
Sitting there with you next to me
On that park bench in the night
Where Beauty sat to my right
