Too Much To Bear
The Black Knight
I find myself fascinated
Mired in the mystery
Caught contemplative
Mulling mindfully
The ebbs of time
And flows of love
Engage my mind
And thicken blood
Where constancy is change
And sacrifice is small
Where normalcy is strange
And steadiness enthralls
Not a moment to be lost
Nor a minute to be gained
I’ve counted up the cost
Of a heart untamed
And found it too much to bear
In silence any more
So come, pull up a chair
And listen to my yore
Of a love deferred
And hearts abiding
Of a promise heard
And devotion’s rising
Mired in the mystery
Caught contemplative
Mulling mindfully
The ebbs of time
And flows of love
Engage my mind
And thicken blood
Where constancy is change
And sacrifice is small
Where normalcy is strange
And steadiness enthralls
Not a moment to be lost
Nor a minute to be gained
I’ve counted up the cost
Of a heart untamed
And found it too much to bear
In silence any more
So come, pull up a chair
And listen to my yore
Of a love deferred
And hearts abiding
Of a promise heard
And devotion’s rising
