Granted, I don't share too many personal details on here. But when I live my life with the realization that what happens today might touch someone tomorrow when they read about it...it changes how you live.
That realization is like sunglasses that tint your world a different hue. Like an instant drink mix that changes the taste of your water. Like stepping in the cold puddle of ice water that makes your comfy socks cold and unbearable.
You can't escape living with people but willingly offering parts of your life to others is a new level. It's a friendship that goes past skin deep. It touches something deeper inside of who we are.
Human companionship is so necessary. Even living in the perfect world, untainted by sin, God saw that it was not good for Adam to be lonely. So God, in His goodness, made the most incredible companion for man - woman.
But speaking of the joys of marriage and relationship might come in another blog, much later.
Can you imagine how lonely Adam would have been if he had Eve but didn't have God? Instead of the edge puzzle piece missing, it'd be like a hole in his heart, a part of his soul that wasn't there. More than incomplete, more than empty, more than broken.
We need God. We need His love, His voice reminding us who we are. It's as if we're awake in an infinite cold and God is our only warmth, singing the song of His stars and galaxies dancing across the cosmos at His command. He allows our dreams to soar beyond what we can do apart from Him, He listens when we pray to be His and His alone. He is the only hope, our only hope for life. Rest in His embrace tonight.
